You can make these cute peacocks adjustable!

I bought some jeweled birds. They were useless because they didn't fit and weren't adjustable. BUT if you carefully remove the joints between the neck and the springs (a copper wire cutter worked flush for me) and smooth the resulting burrs (a sapphire nail file will do), you have nice, usable thread tensioners.
