I bought this to check if my building had enough ventilation for my bedroom. Seems to be working correctly. The lowest values were around 450 after being away from home all day, which is about right for an urban area. After an open night, the reading was around 550, which is safe. After half an hour of hard gymnastics, it rose to 950 and dropped below 600 for several hours. When I breathed on it for about two minutes, it rose above 1000 and a loud alarm sounded. I started using it right away without reading a little manual or fiddling with the four buttons to adjust the metrics and default settings. I bought this instrument because AZ Instruments makes a wide range of consumer and professional CO2 meters so I presume they know what they do, because several of their reviews on Revain were very positive, and because I was considering two other brands/models It's been reported to emit a flashing light that can be distracting in a darkened room. This unit also has a faint flashing light emanating from the back, but it's only visible at night in my very darkened room when I look directly at the unit. Note. This device operates on AC power only through the supplied adapter.
