I did quite a bit of research before purchasing this item. It had great reviews, lots of people praised the quality customer service, and they had replacement filters at a reasonable price. When it arrived I was generally happy with my purchase; However, the sound was louder than I expected. I now know that this was because it was misaligned, which caused the inner pole around which the two circular fans oscillate to warp unevenly over time (or maybe it was always slightly bent and it just became worse) worn to breaking point. now completely useless. It's offset and unbalanced in such a way that even at the lowest settings, the entire air filter shakes on the floor and is very noisy. This is after about 10 months of normal use. Very disappointed with the poor quality as I now have a few extra unused filters and an unused air filter. I would caution new buyers to check that the device vibrates perfectly to avoid encountering the same problem.
