I used to use the Kwikset Deadbolt for the keyboard. The thing was junk! It would randomly lock me up once a month, sometimes the bolt motor would just spin for an hour for no reason until the battery died, sometimes the keyboard would stop working and then start working again a day or two later. So I kicked it out after 3 months of torment. And he started looking for an alternative to the bar. I found this model, also from Kwikset, and decided to give it a try. This model really works! The installation is VERY easy in my opinion. (Quick tip: Use masking tape to temporarily secure the outside while you work on the connection to the inside, it will save you 10 minutes of fiddling.) Changing the battery is VERY easy, just open the battery cover and you're good to go walk. That. No need to use screwdrivers, unlike that silly latched model. It's been 3 months and it's worked every time without a single incident. If it stops working or something weird pops up I'll update this review.
