Review on FlexiSnake MAX Drain Remover Rotating Micro Hook by Jon Estell

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Overpriced disposable product. Only buy if you NEED the 30 " length

The only reason I would recommend this product is because of FlexiSnakes "Drain Weasel MAX Snake Snake" ($15 as of 05/22/20) - if your drain clogged is more than 18 inches from the drain. This product is nearly identical to the base 18-inch model, the Drain Weasel Starter Kit that FlexiSnake sells through Home Depot ($6 as of May 22, 2020). I suspect most customers won't need the extra 12 inches (30 inches total) of length that this version offers. This product is also not designed like the base model in my opinion. (FWIW, the FlexiSnake website does not list this 30" MAX version. Additionally, FlexiSnake directs customers to Home Depot to purchase the products listed). The base of the 18 inch wand has micro hooks (the part that catches the hair) only at the front tip (maybe the last 10% of the length). On the other hand, the 30" MAX tube had micro hooks that worked on all 30". That means hair and dirt will collect on almost every part of the wand that goes in the sink, not just the tip (which is awful). intended for single use. That makes the $15 MAX price even more ridiculous. Ultimately, if you want to buy a drain plug tool and don't need a 30" (probably not), buy Home Depot's $6 base model.
