FlexiSnake MAX Drain Remover Rotating Micro Hook Review

I've bought several other drain cleaner snakes but they were only 19 or 20 inches which didn't work in my shower. Instead of paying the plumber a lot of money I decided to make one last try and buy this unit which was a lot longer than other products at 30 inches. Worked great and saved me a lot of money. I think it's also much safer on other drains (e.g. sink drains) compared to other products that have burrs on the end.

The handle is what I got as I had other (metal) drain cleaners and the handle is needed. I needed the extra length these gave. The problem is that the wand is *too* flexible. Once it hits an obstacle or too sharp a bend in the pipe, it just spins around as you twist and try to get it in. It should be a lot tougher. The only reason I would recommend this product is because of FlexiSnakes "Drain Weasel MAX Snake Snake" ($15 as of 05/22/20) - if your drain clogged is more than 18 inches from the drain. This product is nearly identical to the base 18-inch model, the Drain Weasel Starter Kit that FlexiSnake sells through Home Depot ($6 as of May 22, 2020).
