Having used an air powered parting tool for about 20 years this is a step up. There is no hose to interfere with your placement or take up more space. For those who say it doesn't have enough power, it has the same power as the pneumatic one. They are designed in such a way that they do not destroy the grinding wheels available to them. If you need to make long cuts in thicker materials, you need a different tool.
