I have a Shark IR100 and I always cleaned the filters rather than replacing them thinking they were as expensive as the vacuum cleaner itself. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE my shark. I think this is the best battery powered vacuum cleaner and I use it often to clean a room or two. There are three different filters in this vacuum and I was horrified to see how much it would cost me to buy them from the company plus shipping. very reasonable price. I took photos of my old filters and spare parts. As you can see, the cylindrical plastic filter looks the same as the foam core that goes over it. The only thing I didn't like was that the new foam cylinder tends to be a little looser than the old one, but that may be due to age and the fact that I've washed it a lot. The filter that didn't fit is a small thin filter. which is located under the exhaust to prevent dust from getting back into the air. My old filter is twice as thick as one. This new one is basically a single layer of flannel that due to the way it was packaged will pucker at the ends and not fit. I had to cut 1/8 inch off the top and then it happened. The vacuum works well and seems to be sucking as hard as ever. I'm just a little disappointed in the poor quality of the exhaust filter that came with the kit. It should be twice as thick and fit without modification. I would keep looking for a better alternative than this.
