I have a caravan (so the black tank is almost under the toilet) and when I bought it the black tank kept saying it was 1/3 full even after reversing. Over the years this has spread to 2/3 full. I always thought it was just a "dirty sensor". Before my last long hike, when I used the bag to empty my 30 gallon black tank (it was full), I had about 15-20 gallons of stuff in the bag. around before rinsing and rinsing with fresh water (with my in-line conditioner). Nothing worked. I even poured in 15 gallons of VERY warm water at home and let it sit for 2 hours with no change. Finally, I added 4 ounces of yeast to a 20 gallon tank of water and let it sit for 48 hours. It washed away some of the mess but left me at 1/3 full on my sensor. Then I got this little gem. After about 10 minutes (at a HI pressure hydrant) of moving around, the mess (pictured) came out. Don't worry I live on a ranch and it was thrown in Back 40. I just had to see what happened. After that it's empty! Another long journey is coming up soon, and I don't want to mess with blackwater heaps any more than I have to. I can tell you that a yeast treatment followed by a rinse with this little gem left my reservoir empty. After use I disinfected it with a couple of Clorox wipes.
