As a painter, this is a great tool in theory, but things are different in practice. After a day of use, it almost failed catastrophically. Imagine standing on a ladder 30 feet up and using the tool for the first time when the locking mechanism fails when pressure is applied and it slams into your hand, bleeding and almost throwing you off the ladder. It can most likely be fixed with some blowing, but the fact that it wasn't tightened is puzzling. I'll switch to Purdy and leave it at home when I go to my next job.
