The door knob on my son's Focus stopped working in 2003. It's a fairly expensive replacement for poor Ford design. A few YouTube videos on removing the door panel and door handle to get you started. The replacement is pretty easy if you look in the door. My only gripe was an unnecessary white plastic clip that attaches the door handle stem to the doorknob. Of course it was broken. A replacement clip costs between $15 and $30. What a steal for a cheap plastic part. My workaround was to weld a washer to the inside of the bolt shank and use the broken piece to secure the opposite side of the bolt. The new lock works perfectly.
