Easy to install once the broken one is removed.

Didn't have to remove everything including the door motor and glass guides. All I had to do was loosen the bottom left window clip and then slowly move everything out of the way to gradually move and rotate the old one through the top left hole on the inside of the door while still checking the two places it was connected to, deducts miscellaneous. parts of the door. It was difficult, but it probably saved me a lot of time. The place where my old one broke was a piece of metal, not plastic, soโ€ฆ

It works and seems a little better than the OEM and a lot cheaper

A nasty setup but it fits in the door and nothing fun on every car I've ever installed. worked on. This is almost identical to the Ford part, but it has a small reinforcement tab molded into the part that usually breaks. Buy a set of door clips in case you break one like me. Use caution when removing/installing

Looks like a decent product, but it doesn't have any of the 'upgrades', 'redesigns' or improved materials that Dorman is typically known for. All of the stress points look and feel identical to the factory design, including that cheap piece of die-cast aluminum that always breaks on them. This thing is very difficult to install, not because of Dorman, but because of Ford's incredibly poor design, which is the main reason these things break in the first place. If you're not mechanically savvy, I

Neat replacement part

The door knob on my son's Focus stopped working in 2003. It's a fairly expensive replacement for poor Ford design. A few YouTube videos on removing the door panel and door handle to get you started. The replacement is pretty easy if you look in the door. My only gripe was an unnecessary white plastic clip that attaches the door handle stem to the doorknob. Of course it was broken. A replacement clip costs between $15 and $30. What a steal for a cheap plastic part. My workaround was to weld aโ€ฆ

This is the correct part and it will not fit. oh it broke.

Let me start by saying I have never had a problem with Dorman products, they have always been good but unfortunately not that this time it was a perfect fit and 'stronger' " than the original, it obviously didn't want to fit the piece of plastic at the end of the operating shaft, and as I really need a doorknob and didn't have time to wait for another one, it doesn't fit, I've tried carefully modifying it, to make it fit, it's the same cheap metal as the original and it broke for $30. I'm veryโ€ฆ

  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
