Leak in the seam of the pump body

As you can see in my photo, I built a portable fuel transfer station using a hand truck to transport the battery and fuel filter system. Teflon tape or O-rings will not prevent hose fittings from leaking out. The supplied black hose has different threads at the ends. One end is a solid 3/4 brass thread. The other looks more like the stamped metal you see on a garden hose. I had no problem screwing the brass end into the suction side of the pump (this kit didn't use a suction hose). I tested the other end on the pump handle and it screws in easily. I have however used a Fill-Rite FRH07520 3/4" x 20 ft (6m) fuel transfer hose on my outlet and pump handle for injection. I have used pipe thread sealant on every threaded connection and I have NO leaking connections HOWEVER a factory defect in the pump housing ( the black cast iron part that the hoses attach to.) There is a seam running through this casing (it was left when the cast iron was poured into the casting. in the photos above the red plastic plug in the casing.. too aggressive and too deep This unit has a small hole for a pin in the seam right in the middle of the top of the pump housing (about where the red handle is shown) When pumping, diesel fuel leaks onto the battery in my cart THE SECOND PROBLEM is the Impossibility of self-refueling in the excavator's fuel tank, he filled up very quickly and did an excellent job of storing the fuel about 2.5 m raised utov in the excavator's tank. I was impressed with how quickly he lifted 90 gallons. However, about five minutes later I set the tractor to fill from the same overflow tank into the raised fuel tank. It doesn't start by itself. Even after waiting a few seconds, fuel was not collecting in my main filter (to the left of the pump in my photo). I had to tilt the entire car back to allow the diesel from the primary filter to gravity feed into the pump and fill the system. Overall Impression: Good pump for the price. A solution for the poor at the ridiculous price of Fill-Rite and GPI. For these savings I had to use standard installation techniques and seal the threads properly rather than relying on a cheap design and an o-ring. However, the accuracy of the product description is incorrect. It doesn't prime itself and I haven't found an internal bypass valve. with closed pump handle. Once the fill tank is full, the pump motor sounds like it's under extreme stress. It makes sense since this thing has such a high flow rate. It will not automatically shut off or bypass when the pump handle is closed. Be prepared to reach the switch quickly to avoid burning the engine. I'm also a little mad at myself for not realizing that this particular pump is being sold for as little as $39 by other sellers here on Revain. I will contact the seller and see what they will do about the manufacturing defect that caused the leak. I will post her answer.
