poorly made connections

The fitting on the drain hose was not machined correctly. You can simply insert it into the pump (see video). I've tried cutting the end off and using a barb fitting, but being steel reinforced hose it can't stretch to fit around the barb fitting. I ended up using tape and wire to get it working a bit. I spilled a lot of gas, but I got the job done. Very disappointing as the pump worked perfectly and everything else seems to be of good quality except for the super cheap clamps. I can recommend…

The pumps are great but not the newest.

I bought a set with both hoses, connectors etc. I also bought a 12v garden tractor battery and an extra 30ft hose and the total cost was less than $150. I used nylon pipe tape as the reviews said the threads didn't match and I had no leaks. I would be very surprised at how well the pump worked pumping a nearby tank into mine when the neighbor switched to electric. Both tanks were external so that was a problem. I think it was 50 gallons the first time. The next time, about three weeks later, I…

Use pipe thread sealant on threaded fittings

and discard the o-rings. This attitude is a bad idea. If the fittings are overtightened, the O-ring will pop out. If you tighten it properly, it will not be tight enough and will come loose easily. No wonder there are complaints about leaks. The barbed hose connector is pretty flimsy, but only one (and included) is needed on the inlet side. Don't overtighten or it may break. I've used it and it was fine, but these are better - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CPNJDRR/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o0…

Surprising price

Background: I got tired of filling up 5 gallon cans of diesel fuel to fuel my tractor, sled and mini every weekend. Many years ago we had a fuel tank, but that's long gone. I ended up getting a 91 gallon transfer tank so I could load it on the back of my truck when I needed to fill it up and then just shell out and leave it on the property to fill up the gear. I've been looking for a solution for weeks on the best way to drain the fuel from the overflow tank. I didn't want to spend $300-$1200…

Leak in the seam of the pump body

As you can see in my photo, I built a portable fuel transfer station using a hand truck to transport the battery and fuel filter system. Teflon tape or O-rings will not prevent hose fittings from leaking out. The supplied black hose has different threads at the ends. One end is a solid 3/4 brass thread. The other looks more like the stamped metal you see on a garden hose. I had no problem screwing the brass end into the suction side of the pump (this kit didn't use a suction hose). I tested the
