and discard the o-rings. This attitude is a bad idea. If the fittings are overtightened, the O-ring will pop out. If you tighten it properly, it will not be tight enough and will come loose easily. No wonder there are complaints about leaks. The barbed hose connector is pretty flimsy, but only one (and included) is needed on the inlet side. Don't overtighten or it may break.
