Good monitor - not for me

Overall this is a good monitor and didn't have any mechanical issues. The panel had a low IPS glow and no glare from the backlight, which was amazing. It was calibrated and the colors really looked out of the box. I was impressed with the 175Hz boost rate and the monitor's responsiveness, especially when gaming. I returned this monitor for a number of reasons. #1 is Displayport 1.2 only. #2 is only 8 bits. #3, while it advertises HDR600 and a brightness of up to 600 nits, I found it didn't appear very bright. I also have an Acer Predator XB323U with HDR600 and brightness up to 600 nits, PG329Q didn't compare the brightness. It just seemed darker. Both use the same AUoptronics panel so you feel they're pretty much the same, but the Acer is brighter and supports DP 1.4. For the price Asus is asking for this monitor I expect more or they should drop the price to $550-$600 which would be better. Don't get me wrong, this is a really good monitor and it's great for gaming. I just got spoiled with my XB323U. Although just my opinion!

Pros
  • rotation setting
Cons
  • Screen burn-in: This occurs when a static image is displayed on the monitor for too long and continually burns into the screen.
