Not pocket-hole screws, but still very good screws

These are definitely not pocket-hole screws. They may work, but the angle head doesn't hold as well as the flat head on the corresponding pocket-hole screws. Adding to the confusion is that part of the description says they are made of zinc plated carbon steel. The other part says they are 304 stainless steel. From my observation they are stainless steel so should be fine for outdoor use. The screws use a #2 square drive. The kit includes a 6" bit which is nice to have. The carving is very rough and the point is very sharp. It digs in quickly and holds securely. I use them for all kinds of woodwork and DIY. Have special screws on hand. I wouldn't recommend for pocket holes though. The screws appear to be well made. They are equal and quite strong. I didn't notice any major flaws. The plastic case is not very good. As you can see from the photos I posted, although sealed with tape, the sleeve still flexed enough to open during shipping and the contents spilled into the mailer. The lid came off completely when I tried to open it. Small deal so I just threw away the cheap plastic case. All in all, these are really good 2.5" screws to have on hand. 304 stainless steel, square heads, coarse thread, very sharp point. The description is a little confusing as to what they really are. And the plastic case is useless. But the price is pretty good for 100 screws, especially since it comes with a 6" screwdriver.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and chunky
