Review on ๐Ÿ”Š Pyle Auto Marine Amplifier - 4-Channel, 200 Watt RMS 4 OHM Full Range Stereo with Wireless Bluetooth & Prime Speaker - High Crossover HD Audio Multi Channel System (PLMRMB4CB, Black) by Ted Boone

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Working (edit: change to 'working'), not advertised Performance

Edit 10/19/2020 (Updated to 1 star): After less than a month of use, the little amp died. It all started with the sound breaking and being interrupted. Almost like skipping a CD. After about a week the amp is no longer discoverable via Bluetooth and the RCA inputs do nothing. I have checked all my connections and the fuse. All wiring is fine, but only the red LED on top is flashing. No exit. I have contacted Pyle to ask about a warranty claim but have had no response (although a 1 year warranty is advertised). Today is the deadline for my Revain return, so I will not wait for a response from the manufacturer. He goes back to camp. Edit 7/16/2021: A replacement amp (from Revain) died in March of this year and I finally found the time to yank it out of my car (again). It doesn't turn on at all. There are no LEDs. No bluetooth. silent. Time to look for something better. The thing is junk. Original Rating (3 Stars): First let me read the reviews so I have a good idea of what I'm buying. A few things surprised me, however. Pros: This amp is tiny, about the size of a graphing calculator. You will have no problem hiding it somewhere out of sight. For me it was under the seat. The Bluetooth connection works well and connects automatically. A small red LED will blink and then light up when plugged in. - No head unit required but it has RCA inputs if you want to use them. - It uses almost no power, so it doesn't get hot (see below). .cheap. Bad: Either the advertised performance is a joke, or Pyle figured out how to break Ohm's Law. The power cord is 16 AWG and comes with a 10A fuse only. You're not pushing 200W through a 10A fuse, let alone 4 channels of 200W. The size of the fuse matches the device so you can draw conclusions. The bass is exceptionally bad. As if he didn't exist. Some of these might be my old speakers. It could also be the bluetooth connection. I haven't tried RCA inputs yet. I feel like there's just a lack of power. - The volume slider works from 0 to half. It does next to nothing except half volume. Cheap plastic handle to touch. Not a big deal, but it would be nice to be able to upgrade to something prettier. water permeability. I mounted it on some plastic racks so it stays relatively dry if the floorboards get wet. I finished the installation yesterday so I didn't check the durability. It seems pretty decent in the looks/weight category, so I'm hoping the electronics last a while. If not, I installed all the wiring to upgrade to something nicer. Overall I'd say it's a decent little device for the price. If you just want something that connects to your phone and makes noise, this is for you. I use it in my classic car so I don't have to cut off the dashboard and switch my native radio to bluetooth. I will mainly be using it for GPS directions while driving and it seems to work well for that. It plays music, but if you're looking for some sort of sound quality, I'd probably look further.
