I ordered this product first but didn't get what I ordered. What I wanted was the RCA branded RCRN06GR, but instead I got the "Audiovox" RCRPS0GR, which is a less capable remote control. Be sure to check your remote to make sure you have the right one. The one I received had packaging and instructions stating it was the one I ordered, but the remote itself was a different model with different buttons and different battery requirements. I sent the remote back and ordered another one. The replacement was correct, with RCA on the box (no Audiovox markings) and correct instructions. I spent almost a whole day programming the remote control for 5 devices (CD player, DVD player, TV, cable box and receiver). I actively used the learning function, but then I didn't have enough memory to complete the programming. Once you run out of memory, there's nothing you can do if you still need to program additional features. Memory is limited to 50 learned functions. The learning memory is not used when using pre-programmed codes. So I started again. I have cleared all learned features and this time limited the number of features programmed into the TV as I use the CableBox to control most of my TV viewing. I was also able to use the pre-programmed code for the CableBox (Comcast) and DVD player (Oppo). I have an old Sony CD player and was trying to use the codes for that player. I have tried all Sony CD player codes and Sony DVD player codes but I could never get the remote to work with my Sony CD player using these codes. So I had to use the learning functions to control the CD player. Another feature of this remote control is the volume punch function. This allows you to transfer the volume settings from one device (TV) to another device (CableBox). In fact, I couldn't even program the volume buttons on the remote directly to the CableBox, and I had to rely on the volume pass-through method to activate the volume buttons when using the remote to control the CableBox. Pretty good remote control, albeit with limited memory. It lights up beautifully, the buttons are responsive and with a little patience I was able to set it up and work with all the devices I have. I suggest reading the instruction manual carefully, then using the pre-programmed codes first (since it saves memory to learn), and finally manually programming/learning devices that don't have a working code. Also, it's best to program your most-used devices first so that you can at least program your most-used components if you run out of memory. And be prepared to start over if something goes wrong on the first try, as it did for me. After spending enough time with this remote I think I've finally tamed it for my setup - and it works great! Update - 11/08/2019 I found a 5 digit code for old Sony CD players. Code: 41058. This code is listed as a Sony receiver code in the code list that came with the remote control, but it will work with older Sony CD players.
