I have several space heaters, from smaller than this one, to much larger. This one does a decent job of putting out heat and warming the immediate area. It is smaller than you may realize so you might want to measure off something that's 16 inches tall to give you a good reference. With the small size, included remote, and oscillation feature, this would make for a great under the desk heater in a drafty home office, but it isn't really going to be able to heat an entire room like some other more expensive 1500w heaters can.
