I' I'm quite small and it's one of the few hoods that I can wear comfortably. My head size is 6-7/8. The headband is insanely comfortable and the drop-down mechanism is surprisingly smooth. I had a struggle with a separate head strap, I figured I'd have to replace it instead of having to. I am very satisfied with this product. I changed the lens, which was plastic in the kit. It comes with a rubber grommet that reduces the window view by about 15%. I took it out and put protective glasses in front and behind the lampshade like everyone does. I'd say it's about an inch shorter than other similar hoods and maybe a little less wide if you replace the notches or plastic screws on the sides.
