Stopped working after a few weeks

Unfortunately this thermometer had a very short life. It worked well, reading temperatures quickly most of the time, and was a solid companion for everyday use in the kitchen. Overall, we were very happy with it, but after a few weeks of its life, the screen began to fade in places and the temperature deviated greatly from the norm. Water at room temperature was measured in the 2000s. We kept the head of the thermometer out of the water during cleaning, but assuming some moisture got inside, I left it in the rice for a few days. In fact, Reis helped but became his home. In order for it to work properly, it had to live in Reis and just recently got a new battery too. Strange, it stopped working and now it won't turn on. We are disappointed. I probably won't buy this again.
