Watch what you do when you cut it.
Wire mounted to 78 GMC pickup. I found some large flange washers and 1 1/4" grommets at a local hardware store to attach to the firewall. I cut the cable into panels without wrapping tape around it and it snapped like a blooming flower. I had to replace the inner cable and try again.
