Put this in my husband's man cave/office as he works from home. Our back room where he works is drafty because it is an extension to the house built by the original owners and it is next to the back door. He wanted a "chimney" and it was a compromise. He loves to. It's electric and efficient. During the day we save gas because he doesn't even have to turn on the heating. It warms up the entire room and it's quite a large room. It looks real enough and I like it because I'm allergic to pine and cedar and can't make an actual fireplace. There is no remote control. You need to control this on the actual device. I would like a remote control from the sofa.
