Broke after 3 trips

We were so happy to find a towbar for our camper that will hold our bike rack we bought on Amazon (holds 5 bikes). We have two adult bikes, two 20" bikes for the boys and a 16" bike for our daughter. It was loaded, but the hitch weight did not exceed 200 pounds, with a maximum of 125 pounds. We've taken it on three hikes, which tied together and traveled a total of about 13 hours over three months, just travel time. On the way home from our third hike the clutch broke, one bike came loose and was hit and both wheels were bent, two bikes had bent wheels that needed replacing and two others had minor scratches. We towed the bikes about a half mile before we were stopped. We had to buy a new bike for our daughter ($115) and two new wheels, tires and inner tubes for other bikes ($135). We paid $101 for a bike rack that we can't use now and $41 for this broken hitch. We lost $392 on something designed to make our camping life easier, and it cost us. Pictured is the coupling after it broke and how the bikes looked before on the trailer. I am so disappointed and will try to get my money back as it was also a real pain finding hubs for old bikes.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • old
