Review on Gigabyte M27Q-SA 27" Monitor: Response FreeSync, 2560X1440P, 170Hz | Flicker-Free, Height & Tilt Adjustment, Blue Light Filter | HD Display by Clarance Waller

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great inexpensive monitor!

Excellent image and color quality after some tweaking, response time and refresh rate are very fast and perfect for gaming 144Hz via HDMI and 170Hz via Displayport (G-Sync compatible for DP only). I was surprised that enabling the HDR color option in Windows 10 settings delivered decent HDR400 content and matched colors for both SDR content and HDR content. Note that this monitor has a BGR subpixel layout instead of regular RGB subpixels, which can cause small text to be slightly blurry in Windows 10 if you don't tweak your registry and cleanup settings. Overall the monitor is great and looks great, especially if you take the time to tweak it to your liking (which I highly recommend). In my case, I didn't experience any dead pixels or excessive dimming (there is some noticeable bleed in the corners when viewing a full black screen, which is within the normal and acceptable range for IPS panels). I've heard that QC was patchy for this model, but I (fortunately) had no problems. I was originally going to give it 5 stars but ended up with a model that only came with European and Australian power cords, which Revain made up for by paying for a power cord in a US outlet after contacting their customers.
