Review on Phanteks PH VGPUKT_02 Universal Vertical Pci by Richard Gilbert

The perfect mount for the right case

CoolerMaster was stupidly clunky. CableMod has pushed the entire setup further forward. Phanteks was just right for me. *To use this bracket, your case must have an open back panel, with no brackets crossing the PCIe slot area.*Installation is easy:1. the extension cable is screwed to the bracket.2. The GPU is plugged into the extension cable and screwed to the bracket.3. The cable plugs into the mobo, and the bracket plugs into the case like a regular GPU.4. secure attachment with 3 knurled screws. The mount uses 6 slots and holds my 2.5 slot MSI Trio without tipping over on flat surfaces. When installed in my Inwin 103 (7-slot) case, I had enough room to mount a regular 120x25mm fan underneath to support it. The metal finish looks nice and doesn't feel cheap, and it comes with a couple of sticky pads to protect the slick underside of the mount (I wasn't overly concerned about scratching it a bit, so I left that out of the way ). . I have no way of testing if it will hold up well over time, but for now my card is safe with no signs of play. I bought this with the intention of bypassing my case's 305mm GPU length limit when using a 240mm side radiator. I was able to push that limit and use my 330mm card and set up the heatsink in a push-pull orientation. Good mount.
