Review on πŸ“ˆ Enhanced Rating of Promark Extension Drawer Slide by Chris Edgerton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great slides for the price, but need more specs

I bought these 22" slides for ten large garage drawers. They arrived in a worn Β£36 USPS flat rate box. Inside they were packed in another box with shipping tapes and arrived safely. They are 21.5 inches long and 21.5 inches long. They are made from .05 inch (18 gauge) zinc plated steel and feature a variety of large and small slotted mounting holes. They are not self-closing or cushioned, but have a soft bumper and mechanism to keep the drawer closed. These rails are 0.50" wide horizontally and 0.53" wide vertically because the ball bearings are centered in their grooves so they should be 1 1/16" wider than the box or 17/32" wide on each side. The piece that attaches to the cabinet has mounting tabs that allow the rails to slide out of the cabinet to accommodate rails that are too far apart. If they are mounted too close together, the ball bearings will only move on one side of the slide, making it difficult to open and close. The guides are lubricated with a clear, sticky grease that makes it difficult to pull out, but gets better with time. . If you clean them and lubricate them with a lighter lube, they will slide more easily. My rails came with 80 5/8" pan head mounting screws, which is a nice improvement over no screws. The guides allow for a screw head up to 1/8" high, so #8 pan head sheet metal screws work great, easy to find at hardware stores and can be adjusted somewhat if using larger slots or holes. They also come in a variety of lengths so you can choose the length to suit your drawer and cabinet thickness. My only complaint is the lack of such technical information in the Box which can be corrected with half a sheet of printed paper.. Overall these are great slides for the price and would be a solid 5 star if they included a sheet of paper with sizing, screw options and an explanation of the various mounting holes.

Pros
  • β˜… 10 pairs of slides per drawer
Cons
  • Some small things
