I use it horizontally on the terrace above the canal. Has a nice weight. Just in case, I tied it with a bungee through the central hole. More and more birds are using it. Here in Southwest Florida, birds are reluctant to flock to feeders in the summer because food is easy to come by. Surprises so far include Gallinules, including a regular visiting chick and a lone brown thresher. (I'm a birder in Florida and haven't seen the latter in the wild yet, so that's a big surprise.) Having only used it this season, I can't wait to see if winter migrants will like it, too. Well done and attractive.
