As directed, I installed a 75 pound torque wrench. The threads on the upper ball joint failed well before this mark was reached. As a short-term solution, I reinstalled the old top. The description and accompanying instructions mention a pin mount for the lower mirror mount - I didn't have it in the box. UPDATE: The company quickly sent a replacement for the withdrawn one and everything went smoothly. Customer service was quick and painless. It helped that I had photos of the failed unit.
