Not worth the money

I bought these a few months ago and finally found the time to install them on my 2011 Jeep JK Unlimited Sahara. They lasted about a month before breaking down. Aside from the lack of durability, the cotter pins and grease fittings were missing when I received them so I had to look them up at my local parts stores. I would NOT buy them again. Next time I'll use Moog ball joints. Don't waste money on them.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.

got mine in they were hard.

Inserted Lead. They were difficult to press in, but did it with a percussion gun and a ball joint press. After installing the bottom grease fitting, remove the grease fitting and then use the tip of the needle on the grease gun to inject grease into the joint. After grease begins to flow from the boot, screw the low profile mirror back on. The easiest way to deal with it. I think I used a 4 inch needle lube tip and bought it here as well.

Solid ball joint suitable for shock absorbers, struts and suspension

These ball joints are great! My 2010 JK runs amazingly well after installing these ball joints. You can lightly lubricate the upper ball joints. I bought a needle adapter (from a local auto parts store), put the adapter on a grease gun and lubricated the lower ball joints. In hindsight, I should have lubricated the lower ball joints during installation as that would be more difficult after I put everything back on the jeep. A tip: lubricate the upper and lower ball joints when installing.

  • Excellent design

Torn thread problems during installation

As directed, I installed a 75 pound torque wrench. The threads on the upper ball joint failed well before this mark was reached. As a short-term solution, I reinstalled the old top. The description and accompanying instructions mention a pin mount for the lower mirror mount - I didn't have it in the box. UPDATE: The company quickly sent a replacement for the withdrawn one and everything went smoothly. Customer service was quick and painless. It helped that I had photos of the failed unit.

Good products for parts

My 2010 Jeep Wrangler was shaking when hitting a bump at over 50 mph. Then I decided to buy these ball joints, oh my they seem sturdy and hold the tires (285/65/18 mud tires) together well. It's been 5 months now and I haven't had any problems with the ball joints. I've ridden medium to soft trails about 6 times and pens are still good. I've also put another 10,000 miles on these ball joints and there's no sign of dead vibration anytime soon. Recommend these ball joints for jeeps with big…

3 out of 4 for ball joints

Pretty good ball joints, heavy duty and appear to be durable but quality control is poor. One of the ball joints didn't look as good as the other three, the metal and dust cap colors were slightly different, the dust cap had a hole in it and the locking ring was plastic instead of metal. the other three ball joints. It looked like a fake. My problem is that I didn't notice it until it was too late and I had to put it on to ride. Oh, and the upper ball joint boot doesn't fit very well either…

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Update: All four are destroyed. Came back to read the five year limited warranty and even to take advantage of the warranty you have to buy another $200 set with no replacement warranty first. Well, the money is at hand. I doubt this will happen and then I'm stuck with another kit that doesn't last 3 years. Replaced the factory ball joints with some fairly inexpensive ball joints also available from Revain. These failed fairly quickly, if not immediately. I was hesitant to trust a ball joint…
