You need a new axle nut! You definitely need to get rust off your knuckle! Read the PDFs provided by Moog!

Replaced both front parts from 08 Outback with MOOG 513220. Parts had good molding and quality control. Smooth action. The wheel studs were well cut and clean. The item is easy to install. OEM replacement. Be sure to read the three PDF files provided by Moog on diagnostics, installation, and possible problems. Before completing the assembly, ensure that the steering knuckle is free of rust, otherwise ABS/cruise control problems may occur. Plan on using a couple of different sized cold chisels to pry the hub assembly off. Also, you will need to purchase new axle nuts for each axle nut removed. Original Subaru nut 902170049 (for Legacy; check compatibility first). You must "nail" or forge the nut as no cotter pin is used. You need to remove the wheel, axle nut, caliper, caliper bracket, rotor and finally the four bolts holding the hub assembly in that order. Have a helper hold the brake to loosen the axle nut. ** Torque specifications (OB/Legacy platform): ** - Hub-to-knuckle bolts: 47.9 ft-lbs - Front axle nut: 162 ft-lbs - Lug nuts: 81.1 ft-lbs (all) - Caliper bracket on Steering knuckles: 59 ft.lbs. - Caliper Brackets: 19 ft.lbs. - Rotor cover: 10 ft.lbs. - Make sure the hall sensor is clean. Wipe it off with a clean cloth. Bracklin doesn't hurt, but if you're worried use a dry rag. Bracklin didn't damage my sensors. - After removing the hub assembly, you need to align the "Duster knuckle" and clean it from rust. Hope that helps.
