I have a 3 month old Newport Vessels trolling motor in my canoe. It says I must have a 50 amp circuit breaker. So I installed that. I was less than 100 meters from the dock when the switch first went off. And after it worked it looks like it overheated because I couldn't reset it for a minute or two. I did my best. But physically he didn't let up. So I sat in the middle of the river waiting for the damn thing to decide it was ready to be dropped before I could move on. As soon as I did that, everything happened again after a few minutes. And a few more times until I finally removed it from the circuit altogether. When I did that everything was fine. Happy trolling motor. Nothing overheats. Nothing burned out. The only problem was that circuit breaker.
