We had problems with the dishwasher, didn't clean the soap dispenser, didn't empty it, tried to fix the door as stated on the web, still not working, looked at this filter which was wire mesh packed it up, tried it clean with a scraper, the brush was only about half clean, put it in and everything worked perfectly. Bought this filter for $35, a bit pricey but better than putting in a new dishwasher.
