We had problems with the dishwasher, didn't clean the soap dispenser, didn't empty it, tried to fix the door as stated on the web, still not working, looked at this filter which was wire mesh packed it up, tried it clean with a scraper, the brush was only about half clean, put it in and everything worked perfectly. Hand washed the old filter before replacing it but there were still tiny dirt spots on the dishes and glasses and some small debris stuck on the bottom swam . The new filter solved the problem. It had dents as others have mentioned but no cracks so no problem. Now I'm going to clean the old filter with limescale and limescale remover and take some more.

This is the best deal I could find for this filter. It comes with a case that I don't need to replace. Only the filter was clogged. Water flows quickly through the filter once you install it. When installing, ensure that the bottom of the filter housing is secured to the bottom of the dishwasher and seals the bottom so that all water used is filtered. Still quite expensive for what it is. Very easy to install. You should take this filter out of the dishwasher from time to time to clean it. I did just that, but the minerals in the hard water eventually accumulated enough to clog the filter. Delivered very quickly but the package turned out to be an envelope and the filter was slightly bent in transit. I fixed it but make sure yours is intact before installing.

The drainage system for these Bosch dishwashers has both advantages and disadvantages. The advantage is that mechanical filters are very efficient and keep out food particles, labels and other things. The downside: if you put off cleaning the fine filter for too long, it will clog with grease and pasty residue, water will flow back, the washing machine will stop with an error code, and you'll end up with a mess.
