Review on KADAMS Digital Bathroom Shower Kitchen Clock Timer - Waterproof with Alarm, Visual Countdown, Temperature & Humidity - White by Brandon Woods

good timer Bad waterproofing. FIXED

I bought this timer for my kids to use in the shower and to save on water bills. Worked well for 7 months. The screen started to go black, the alarm clock worked randomly, the buttons stopped working. There was some water in it, so I put it in a rice bag for a week. No improvements and he actually died completely, no screen, no sound. Still, I like the device, so I decided to take it apart and see before ordering a new one. The photos show the progress of the renovation. You can see a few drops of water on the screen image, but when I opened it fully there were a few more. There were water drops on the circuit board and you can see that it could be a sign of corrosion. I took a cotton swab and some rubbing alcohol and wiped the entire circuit board including the long black stripe that was supposed to connect the LCD to the circuit board and that fixed it. Figure 5 shows the screen in good condition and a "weatherproof" shot of the plastic cover which is worthless. I removed all cleaning. The last photo shows that I coated all the screw holes and the edges of the plastic case with silicone. Put a clip on it for a day to make the faceplate stick again. Back in business. For $25 I wouldn't be happy but I would consider buying it again and maybe fitting an extra water seal before using a new one.
