Part of the blame for necessitating this problematic device lies with the new MacBook Pro. There may be a better version of this product out there somewhere, but I haven't seen it. The USB outputs cannot work simultaneously with my hardware device (Rane SL-2) and the hard drive. I don't think it can actually compete with my hardware. The Rane SL-2 works great with a simple USB to Thunderbolt adapter, so it's certainly possible. I had many problems with this device when using WiFi. As soon as I turn it off, wifi works again. That's pretty unacceptable. Two stars because if you don't use this for professional applications it might be worth a try. It "works", but pretty bad if you ask me.
