Part of the blame for necessitating this problematic device lies with the new MacBook Pro. There may be a better version of this product out there somewhere, but I haven't seen it. Works pretty much as expected. I haven't used the SD card slots so I can't talk to them, but the USB ports work fine. At first I had a hard plastic case for my MacBook, but it didn't "buckle" with it, I had to take it off. It works well but is expensive.

I had a problem last week when Apple released an update that disabled my hub. I've had this product since last summer and it's been amazing so far. I had no complaints and it works well with my wired keyboard and other accessories. When the 10.15.4 update stopped working and a call to Apple didn't help, I emailed HOMESPOT and they responded to my issue very quickly. Works as advertised so far. Just that it has a built-in LED that's always on, even when the lid is down. So storing it with the dock on will drain the battery.

This is a really good product, it does everything as described. Thing is, I have a feeling it can break pretty easily. If I could go back and buy a wired one, I'd probably do that instead. To be fair to the product it is of very good quality and looks a lot better than any other on the market. So if you're looking for the looks, it looks really good. Also, I won't say that if you have a case on your computer, it won't fit your computer. I had to cut the case with wire cutters to fit it.

Still working 9 months later, my brother uses it for his MacBook at school. There were no issues getting through and the extra ports it offers are amazing. It loads, although it's not a problem either. The only thing that might bother someone is how it protrudes from the laptop despite being as thin as the MacBook Air itself.

I won't go into detail and just say that if you have a computer with a USB 3 Thunderbolt port, the HomeSpot adapter is the simplest and most elegant solution to your peripheral problems. The price is reasonable, the finish is perfect for my computer and it works as advertised and requested. I don't have to think about using a peripheral device; HomeSpot has finally solved that problem, at least until next-gen Thunderbolt-enabled devices become mainstream. Edit: I checked which USB ports. According to my MacBook, the USB ports are USB 2.0 only. Definitely not what was advertised. Bought it for my new 13" MacBook Pro. The ad said the USB 3.0 ports but the speed of importing and exporting items is very slow. Tried my USB on another converter and the speed was ok. Totally dissatisfied with the amount I paid.

This is my second USB hub max. This is because I hit my Mac which caused my hub's pins to bend and have twisted. As a result, it stopped working due to a bad connection. Again, this isn't a feature of the hub, and my Mac needs the hub to use removable USB drives and SD cards. If I were to buy a new Mac, I would hope to get it without this added feature. But judging by the way things are going, future Macs could continue to do so. The hub is good, has 4-5 ports and a few SD slots.
