Review on RD812NH 8 GPM 12V Portable Fuel Transfer Pump - Fill-Rite with Manual Nozzle, Discharge & Suction Hose, Power Cord - Red by James Richardson

I thought long and hard about buying this thing. I was wanting to get one of those cheap D size plastic battery operated fuel pumps where you stick one end in a gas can and use a little plastic nozzle to fuel your boat, tractor or whatever. On the other hand, this pump was too expensive, but had a lot more power than any of those plastic pumps. I needed something to quickly pump gas; like a gas station! So I finally settled on this thing and definitely made the right choice! It has a METAL fill nozzle, very heavy gauge tubing - 3/4" ID on the inlet side and 5/8" ID on the outlet side. And they are quite long! There are some negative reviews about the hoses but the manufacturer must have noticed as these hoses are AWESOME! The pump is small but heavy. Very well built! They say it's 8 gpm but I think it's actually faster; I can dump a 6 gallon can of gas into my boat in about half a minute; just as fast as any gas station pump! Very happy with this pump. And you really tell when something is made in the USA because the great quality and craftsmanship really stand out. Very happy with this pump. Very money well spent!
