Whatever they're made of, they're great. It's lightweight, not too slippery and not too rough. They hold the yarn and let it slide. The ends are neither too sharp nor too blunt. I can loop them without losing yarn. I think they're the same as all things, Baby Bear. They are not too much and not too much. You are exactly right. I also like the length. I'm paranoid that my stitches will fall at the other end while I'm knitting, so they're nice and long and I know the stitches will stay. It could be shorter but I like the long ones.
