The perfect handrail for getting out of the shower

I installed this on the tile next to the sliding shower door when my 83 year old mum was visiting for a few months and we wanted something to help her stay stable as she climbed in and out of the bath gets out. I used diamond tile drill bits to make holes for the screws and used silicone sealant around the screws and holes to prevent water from getting in. The tiles end about 18 inches from the ceiling so I could use a rod finder above the tiles on the wall to locate the rods and then hang a plumb bob to find the rod's position behind the tiles. Once installed in the cleats, this handrail is very durable. I'm 6ft 5in, I'm not petite, and I was perfectly comfortable hanging onto him to do a mock "fall" as a test. It looks just like the handrails you see everywhere, which means they're not necessarily designer pieces, but they don't have to be, they have to be effective safety devices but not ugly, and that's where they excel.
