Review on 📦 Enhancing 3D Printing with Polymaker PolyBox Filament Filaments by Brent Henderson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It works but doesn't quite meet my needs

I've been printing a lot of nylon and polycarbonate lately and I needed to keep my filament dry outside of my case. I was impatient and didn't want to print or make my own dry box so I bought these. BENEFITS: The included dehumidifier controls humidity and the two dehumidifier compartments are large and you can use your own dehumidifier if you wish. The bearings and connecting rods are smaller but work well. The rubber stoppers stay in place and help seal the chamber. Three openings at the top and three openings at the back give you plenty of placement options. CONS: The price is a bit high for this quality. It's not that the quality is bad, but at this price I expected slightly better materials. The plexiglass cover has a slight haze and comes with some small scratches. The thermohygrometer is cheap and I doubt its durability. The location of the bottom/rear holes on the back. I admit it may not be for everyone, but it is for me. It's not entirely clear on the product images as one image actually shows three holes in plexiglass, this must be from an earlier version. Having the holes in the base certainly has advantages when you want to change a spool in the middle of a print, but for me, placing those holes in the back is a major disadvantage of my setup. I have to turn the box over so the bottom holes are facing forward to work with my case. This places the back of the thermo-hygrometer against the wall, making it very difficult to read. Summary: It's a bit overpriced at $69.99, but I was in dire need of a dry box. This will serve as intermediate supplies until I can print/build my own dry box.
