It works but doesn't quite meet my needs

I've been printing a lot of nylon and polycarbonate lately and I needed to keep my filament dry outside of my case. I was impatient and didn't want to print or make my own dry box so I bought these. BENEFITS: The included dehumidifier controls humidity and the two dehumidifier compartments are large and you can use your own dehumidifier if you wish. The bearings and connecting rods are smaller but work well. The rubber stoppers stay in place and help seal the chamber. Three openings at the top…

Pros
  • Nice to use

OK but needs a little tweaking

I took the box and put it on the table and the humidity dropped to 10% with nothing inside but bags. Then I put two coils (one just unwrapped and the other two weeks ago but always kept in a desiccant zip) in the box and it didn't go below 18%. These reels are standard size hatchbox side boxes. https://www.amazon.com/Improved-Eva-dry-333-Renewable-Dehumidifier/dp/B000H0XFCS/ref=pd_bxgy_328_img_2/144-8539925-7220101?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B000H0XFCS&pd_rd_r=54ff7424-19e8…

Ok, although I wish the cover was a little more sturdy

Edit: As I suspected, the sides of the walls have started to flex just enough for air to enter and be absorbed by the filaments. Better buy the cereal container option. I'll start with this - a lot of people complain about these boxes because "they're overpriced for what they are". There is another product for sale at Revain which is literally a cereal box with a humidity sensor and an outlet for some PTFE tubing. In these cases, you pay extra for assembly and shipping of the finished product…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
