I bought these after looking at a lot of different cleavers. The original Bear Paws looked the best. It only took me one application to realize they were there. They have a very strong construction and are very comfortable to hold when sharpening. When I first received them, my wife thought they were useless and had doubts about my purchase. I let her try them on pulled pork and she wouldn't give them away! The nails are hard, with no indentations or places where food can get caught. It also adds to durability as they don't tend to flex like I've seen others do. The only open spots on them are in the handle which doesn't make much food contact and I haven't found any problems with that Food gets stuck in it. They did the job of shredding my pork ham very quickly, and I imagine they would do the same with other meats. I have to say I'm very glad I bought them, I would definitely recommend them and look forward to using them for a lot more meat in the future. I am very happy with this purchase so far.
