Review on πŸ“Ά AT&T Sierra Wireless USBConnect Momentum Global 4G LTE USB Modem by Matthew Maggot

So far, so good. on modems

This item was used to replace a failed ATT access point. I put in a SIM card from the access point and everything went fine! You need to install the connection manager that comes with the USB stick itself, which is very handy. I bought this for use in the Cradlepoint MBR1400. Remember that you need to download and install the Sierra Watcher software separately so you can configure the hotspot so that it doesn't turn off when disconnected from the computer. If you're only using it on a laptop, the built-in ATT connection manager will work for you without doing that extra configuration step. However, you need to launch the ATT connection manager application on your PC every time you want to connect to the internet. As it was used it did not come with a USB extension cable. So if you want to connect it to a router like the Cradlepoint MBR1400, you'll need an extension cable to use it some distance from the router. , otherwise interference problems may occur. There are also two antenna ports on the top of the device if you want to add a separate antenna for better signal reception. I am planning to install an antenna along with a signal booster as I will be using it in the country off the beaten path. My setup will have a USB pulse connected via a USB extender to a Cradlepoint MBR1400 acting as the primary router with two Linksys routers. act as access points that are connected to a base station via an Ethernet cable. The USB impulse itself is connected to a 3-watt CellPhoneMate amplifier, which is connected to an external antenna to maximize reception.
