02 Replace Silverado tailgate latch and dashboard trim.

This T1A Tailgate Latch and Fascia Trim has been nicely packaged in a padded envelope. I installed this kit on a 2002 Silverado LS Single Cab. My frame was missing and my latch was missing a green lock, making opening the tailgate awkward. This kit comes without instructions, but installation is very easy. First remove the old bezel on the front panel. 2 to remove the 3 screws securing the latch to the tailgate. Release the red and green clips on the lock. Remove the tailgate rods from the latch and your latch should almost fall out. To install a new kit, simply reverse the process. Insert tailgate. rods, install the red and green locking clips, align the screw holes and tighten the screws. To install the bezel trim you will notice two foam pads, one on each side of the back of the bezel, remove the white backing paper. remove these pads. First insert the front panel from below above the lock, press on the upper part until it snaps into place. The latch assembly looks like a good solid product and as I didn't have the original bezel I can't compare this bezel to the original but the bezel in this set seems to hold up with no issues.
