Review on Smartphone Samsung Galaxy S8 6/128 GB, 2 SIM, black diamond by Wiktor Prusek ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I thought it would be better, but overall not bad.

Before him there was Note II, progress, of course, is colossal. Completely different sensations from the camera, from the screen, it works much faster. 4g is a completely different internet surfing experience. And yes, there are fewer landing glitches on the new s8+ than on the 5-year-old note II. Compared when buying with huawei p10 + - when you hold a huawei in your hand, there is no feeling of a premium product. That is, s8 plus simply irrationally caused a more pleasant feeling in the showroom. I put 3 points in the end because of a bunch of small, annoying flaws. I'm willing to pay $800 for a phone, but this phone has to be _perfect_ and not annoy me in my daily work. If it were a Chinese for 20,000, I would close my eyes to all these minor flaws, I would be happy as an elephant, and I would give the phone 5/5. But for a flagship from one of the 2 main smartphone manufacturers, such shortcomings are unforgivable.

Pros
  • + Excellent screen. The brightness is enough on a sunny day, everything is clear, the pixels are not visible, the color reproduction looks adequate + Great camera. Daytime photos in everyday use (look at the screen 6-20 "without zoom) IMHO are indistinguishable for a non-professional from a DSLR. Examples of photos in the attachment + Normal autonomy for a flagship. I read and surf for about an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening, + 2 hours of music, + gps and wifi are always on + a couple of calls and instant messengers - by the evening 10-15%. If you leave for the weekend to the country and put it on the windowsill (do not use it) - being charged on Friday evening, it will lie quietly until Sunday evening + Sufficient performance, in everyday tasks nothing slows down and does not freeze + Waterproof. It's really convenient not to be constantly afraid that the phone will get wet. +Design. Looks very, very impressive and doesn't smudge too much. The phone is pleasant to hold in hands, it feels like a premium product. +3.5 mm output
Cons
  • Ergonomics. Fingerprint scanner on the back - without turning the phone over, I don't hit it Headphone output from the bottom - when I listen to music, holding the phone is inconvenient -Operation of sensors. The accelerometer does not always correctly determine the position of the screen, you have to shake the phone to rotate the picture. GPS works worse than we would like. I went to the forest with a friend, her OnePlus 3T immediately determined how she was standing in space, for this I had to walk 10 meters - Small glitches. Infrequently, but it happens. For six months of operation, the sensor hung 4 times - I press the icons on the main screen - it does not respond. At the same time, the physical buttons work, the music continues to play. Three times there was a situation when, from 20% charge, the battery dropped to 0 in less than 10 minutes, no special applications were used. Today Google services fell off, after rebooting everything worked. After the ate, authorization in wifi in the metro is imposed through the wifi connection utility, but it does not work there. Previously, I connected to wi-fi, opened auth. Wi-fi. Ru in the browser, and logged in. Now you need to connect Wi-Fi, open authorization from the connection utility, but it doesn’t work there, so in the middle you need to select “open the page in the browser”, but it doesn’t open, so after that you need to type auth. Wi-fi. Ru in the browser. Two extra steps, very annoying. Viber now, with the Internet always on, can deliver messages with a delay of half a day. This was not the case with the previous phone. - a bunch of unnecessary and uninstallable programs from Samsung. But here I knew what I was getting into - Modem. Unreasonably chooses 3g where there is LTE and its signal is better. That is, the phone is in H +, I select the "LTE only" mode with a third-party program, it switches to 4g, after which I select "auto" back in the same program, it reconnects again, but in 4g. It's terribly annoying to poke the phone into something that there are faster networks
