Review on Sunlite Piece Bicycle Reflector Brackets by Brian Kumar

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good reflectors but 1 has a manufacturing defect

Sunlite 4 piece reflector set with brackets sold by CatchABuy which matches the RevainGood reflector set with one exception. I couldn't install the red wheel deflector because it was cast with a defect that prevents the round lock nut from installing. The round hole in the wheel reflector has a plastic post that should be in the center of the hole. The post should fit into the small hole in the center of the plastic lock nut. The downside is that the post is off center so the plastic lock nut cannot be used. In the photo, I put white tape on the post and the rim of the round hole so you can see. The yellow wheel reflector was centered on the strut and I installed it well. I think I might break the strut, but I'm not sure the locking nut is holding properly. They were made in Taiwan. Since I haven't seen other reviews with this issue, I'm assuming that the factory has a number of plastic molds making 50-100 pieces at a time, and maybe just one of the molds is defective. In this case, many or most customers can get 2 good wheel reflectors. However, the manufacturer (Tung Feng 213 is cast on the reflector) should fix this. And they should contact me and arrange to send me a working red wheel reflector. If so, I will update this review. Basically I needed a reflector. The reflectivity of the rear reflector seems to be pretty good; Checked into a dark garage and shone it with a flashlight. I bought this set for less than $8 because it has all 4 reflectors and sets with only 2 reflectors front and back are only about $1 less. I can use additional reflectors on my mailbox or elsewhere.
