When it comes to disc cutters, two popular options are Fiskars and Olfa. I've been using Fiskars 45mm and 60mm for a long time and have always had trouble getting clean lines when cutting fabric. This is my first Olfa and I am immediately amazed at how clean and easy it cuts. Comparing the two things side-by-side, I noticed that the problem with Fiskars is the spring locking mechanism, which pushes the blade back a bit, creating uneven tension that makes a clean line unpredictable and impossible. I also noticed that finer fabrics tend to pile up behind the fishing wheel when cutting and even sometimes when cleaning the line, a small amount can get stuck behind the wheel. olfa is simple, you simply remove the protective cover and squeeze, the strong handle applies the right amount of force to the squeeze, creating beautiful, clean lines. If you are looking for a rotary cutter, take my advice and try olfas first.
