Significantly Improved Cut

I am new to quilting and have purchased a quilt set that includes a ruler, cutting board and rotary knife. The cutter worked fine at first, but I found I had to continue working in the same spot to finish cutting the quilt piece. I thought I needed new cutting blades but even after buying a new set I still had the same problem. I read the reviews on this rotary cutter, a different brand than my original purchase, and thought I'd take a chance. Well I'm really glad I did this as my pattern…

Saves time!

I bought these to make face masks for family and friends. This is my first experience with a rotary cutter and I'm very glad I invested in it. This greatly simplifies patterns. I even double the number of layers to get the job done twice as fast. I haven't tried 3 layers of fabric but I'm pretty sure it can cut through 3 layers depending on the thickness of the fabric. I bought my first one in a hurry and chose it mainly for the color and because it was readily available at the local store. It was terrible. It was difficult to cut straight, and he rarely cut through two miserable layers of 100% cotton. A woman at a fabric store recommended I buy an olfa and explained that in her few years there she only had 2 customers returning olfas. It was only $10 so I thought I

Never use fiskars again.

When it comes to disc cutters, two popular options are Fiskars and Olfa. I've been using Fiskars 45mm and 60mm for a long time and have always had trouble getting clean lines when cutting fabric. This is my first Olfa and I am immediately amazed at how clean and easy it cuts. Comparing the two things side-by-side, I noticed that the problem with Fiskars is the spring locking mechanism, which pushes the blade back a bit, creating uneven tension that makes a clean line unpredictable and…
