I bought these to make face masks for family and friends. This is my first experience with a rotary cutter and I'm very glad I invested in it. This greatly simplifies patterns. I even double the number of layers to get the job done twice as fast. I haven't tried 3 layers of fabric but I'm pretty sure it can cut through 3 layers depending on the thickness of the fabric.
