5 stars for overall value. The entire coffee press is made of stainless steel and is well made, not perfect but very good. The handle weld finish is a bit dull, that's the only thing that could be improved. Some reviewers wondered if having the stainless steel filter screen in direct contact with the inside of the press was a good idea, since it rubs steel on steel. The more expensive brand, Bodum, uses a plastic ring around the plunger, but I find that the Secura press's plunger is easier to use, especially if you wait three or four minutes before pushing the plunger down like it's supposed to make coffee brew. I also prefer anything stainless steel as I don't think plastic doesn't release chemicals when exposed to boiling water. Another point is that I recently had to replace the plastic plunger on a Bodum coffee press because the filter failed at the junction with the plastic. Given the design of the Secura press, I don't expect a problem. This coffee maker arrived on time, exactly as described and makes great coffee.
